The fallen human empire that covered most of eastern Lomoria. Hundreds of years ago, The kingdom’s magocratic leaders made a short-sighted pact with the Nine Hells to transform themselves into half-devils, becoming Asmodeus’ hand on the Prime Material. Their subjects horrified by their transformation, the country was embroiled in rebellion for close to a decade before the combined forces of loyalists and Hell’s minions were able to subjugate the Turathi people. Over the next century, Bael Turath’s devil-kings conquered all before them, but crossed a final line when they destroyed a massive temple to Bahamut at the sacred site where Io was slain. The dragonborn nation of Arkhoisa rose as one to destroy the defilers in the Great Nations War, starting a decades-long conflict of naval battles and land invasions between the two superpowers. With both countries deteriorating, and the diabolic leaders of Bael Turath eager to cut their losses, the noble families began to turn on each other, eventually erupting in a civil war that dissolved the country beyond recognition. As lord’s militias and Turathi regiments dissolved into bands of raiders and pirates over the years, the feuds vanished and only the devil-kings’ legacy, the Tieflings, remained.
In modern times, what skeletal remnants of the Turathi civilization remain have been repurposed by new, younger kingdoms, or left to rot as ancient, forboding ruins.
